Carol Carman’s Writing Club Prompt: Z is for any word containing Z

This week – the prompt is Z is for any word containing Z.

Easy one this week – you can choose any word that’s got a z in it and use that as your prompt.

So there’s a few common words starting with z – zone, zero, Zumba, zip, zinnias… but there’s many more containing a z, such as quiz, lazy, buzz, frozen, whizz, dazzle, gaze, drizzle, hazy, crazy, blitz, amaze, glitzy and the ever-popular embezzle. You can find plenty more online.

And don’t forget names – Zara, Zeb, Zachary, Elizabeth, Zoe, Hazel…

And place names as well – such as The Pirates of Penzance or The Landlubbers of Leighton Buzzard.

Plenty to go at. So, it’s the usual stuff – who, what, where, when, how and why?

Remember this is just a prompt for you. If you’re writing anything else, why not let us have a look at that?

Send your piece to louise.hulland@bbc.co.uk and we’ll review them when we next meet on the radio.
